Caring for our canal corridor
Set up in 2013, the Stoke Bruerne Canal Partnership's Adoption Group is a dedicated volunteer community group committed to the care, enhancement and improvement of the canal corridor along the historic Grand Union Canal running through Stoke Bruerne.

Hands-on conservation in action
Our regular volunteer activities keep the canal corridor clean, safe, and beautiful for everyone. From essential vegetation management and traditional hedge laying to lock painting, weeding, litter picking, and seasonal planting, our team takes pride in every aspect of waterway stewardship.

Recent achievements and milestones
Through collaborative community effort, and funding from Persimmon Homes, we have recently completed the upgrading and extension of the popular Woodland Walk circular footpath.
Our extensive planting of spring bulbs along this footpath and all along the canal corridor ensures that residents and visitors alike enjoy vibrant floral displays along the towpath year after year.

How to get involved
We welcome anyone interested in making a difference to the canal environment in Stoke Bruerne. Task parties take place on the second Wednesday of every month, usually between 9.30am and 2pm.
Simply meet us in the Canal Museum Car Park to join in, check our Facebook page to see what is planned, or reach out to us at chairman@stokebruernecanalpartnership.org.uk for more details.
